Vratsa

My mom came out to Sofia for a two week tour around Bulgaria.

Boyana Church

It is on the Unesco World Heritage list and is Bulgaria's most cherished historic monument. There are 90 murals inside, which date from 1259.

Plovdiv

Shipka

Shipka Monastery-Church of St. Nilolai was built in 1902 as a dedication to soldiers who died at the Shipka Pass during the Russo-Turkish War ( 1877-78). The design is influenced by Russian architecture, and has 5 golden domes and 17 church bells.

Tryavna

Tryavna is famous for its craftmanship, and school of religious wood carving that existed during Ottoman times. The town has National Revival period homes, stone bridges and cobblestone streets.
